Carrickmines Croquet & Lawn Tennis Club is an active, family-friendly tennis club catering for all levels of tennis players ranging from the beginner/improver to international under the guidance of the Club Tennis Committee, the Director of Tennis Pat Crowe and the Club Coaching Team.

Tennis Courts

Offering tennis on 6 synthetic grass, 1 clay, 3 indoor acrylic, 2 practice walls and up to 8 grass tennis courts at the height of the summer months.

Leagues

The club caters for all levels of league tennis

 

  • DLTC (Dublin Lawn Tennis Council) Leagues between different clubs in Dublin and surrounding counties:  We have 7 or 8 ladies teams and 4 to 6 men’s teams in most leagues competing in classes 1 – 6.  Games on week nights or Sunday afternoons.

 

  • Charity Leagues: twice yearly mainly between clubs in south Dublin.  Competition standards range from beginner level to class 4/5.  Carrickmines usually has 4 or 5 teams competing at different levels.  Matches on Monday or Tuesday mornings.  A good introduction to competitive tennis.

Coaching

Available for all levels and ages.

 

General Junior Group Coaching is on Monday & Wednesday afternoons with squads over weekends. Senior coaching is available on mornings and there are some evening blocks throughout the year.

 

Our coaching team offers a range of top-class coaching for players who have never held a racquet before, to those playing full time and at international level.  If you have any enquiries please contact tennis@carrickmines.com

Junior Tennis

 

There is a full recreational coaching and social program for juniors of all ages all year round.  This includes supervised tennis, over the summer holidays, our junior Open Tournament (June), junior Club Championships (August) and junior Team Tennis.

Social Tennis

Meet other club members and players of your own ability

 

  • Club Nights every Tuesday from 7pm to 9pm.  Social level mixed doubles tennis. No partner required. Players generally swap partners every 30 minutes.

 

  • Ladies Mornings every Thursday from 10am to 12pm.  Social level ladies doubles.  No partner required. Players generally swap partners every 30 minutes.

 

  • Team Tennis: Mixed doubles graded competition for players at all levels in Spring and Autumn.

 

  • Friday Nighs at Carrickmines: Mixed doubles tennis for players at all levels, run on an occasional basis with fun competition, pizza after

 

  • Friendly Singles Ladders: for those who like to play singles and would like to meet and play against others around their own level.  Suitable for all levels from beginner up.

Major Competitions

Senior Open

The annual County Dublin Championships in July. A major event in the Carrickmines social and tennis calendar.

 

Club Championships

Held annually in April. Events for all levels and handicap events.

The Outstanding Contribution to Irish Tennis Award to those making a material difference to the development of Irish tennis

The County Dublin Championships provide a fascinating insight into the social, cultural and sporting history of Irish and international sport over the last century and a half.

Gym

Stretch & Workout

 

A state of the art gym with a full range of resistance machines that cater for all muscle groups and levels of fitness from beginner to advanced. The cardiovascular suite includes arc trainers, treadmills, bikes and a rowing machine.

 

The club also has a stretching and pilates area along with changing rooms, showers, and sauna.
