The Association of Centenary Tennis Clubs (CTC) has just published the most recent edition of its newsletter which you can find here.
The newsletter contains a summary of news and activities in 2017 and a short presentation on some of its new members.
The CTC is an umbrella group of clubs more than 100 years old, including some of the most prestigious clubs in the sport.
Carrickmines CLTC is an active member of the association. Teams from the club participated in three senior tournaments in 2017 – in Real Club de Barcelona, Wiener Park Club Vienna and The Cumberland in London.
Our junior players participated in U14 tournaments in Real Club de Barcelona and I.CLTK in Prague in 2017.
And for the past nine years, Carrickmines has hosted overseas teams for the U12 tournament competing for the ‘Carrickmines Cup’. Regarded as a very prestigious tournament in the CTC fixture list, the club has shown great commitment in finding host families for all the players. Five overseas teams were hosted in 2017 and in an exciting tournament, Carrickmines retained the cup for a second year.
Social and tournament junior players also participated in an exchange organised with the Real Club de Tenis, Barcelona in July.
Initially founded by eight clubs as a pan-European association, the CTC now has an extensive global membership. All member clubs have a history dating back at least one hundred years, with a significant sporting tradition and social role.
