Summer League
Fourteen teams, (8 Ladies & 6 Men) represented the club in this year’s campaign.
2011, celebrated the centenary of the first Carrickmines win in the in the DLTC league (Ladies Class 1 in 1911). Fittingly, our ladies 1st team returned to the top tier competing in the Premier league for this year’s campaign. They won three of their five matches.
The Men’s 1st and Ladies 2nd teams were unlucky to narrowly miss out on promotion to Class 1. Both teams lost in the semi finals to Templeogue and Claremont Railway Union respectfully. Well done to the teams, captained by Paddy McCooey and Cinty Broadhead.
Thanks to all the players and subs that represented the Club in the campaigns and it is also encouraging seeing the new generation of players coming through.
American Tournaments
There were two Senior Bank Holiday American tournament & BBQs, A Parent &Child and a Couple’s tournament. All were well supported.
The inaugural “couples night” of mixed doubles followed by Karaoke in aid of the Sunshine Home was held on Saturday 11th of June. A great night of fun and tennis was had by members and visitors alike and the tournament was won by Dermot & Kay Kelly. Thanks to Ciaran & Oonagh Corr for sponsoring the event.
Club Night continues to run on Tuesday evenings throughout the Summer months and Ladies Morning will recommence in September after a break for the Summer.
EBS Senior Open
The EBS Senior Open was held in perhaps the best week of sunshine over the Summer.
Many changes were initiated this year, the Marquee was reintroduced and top quality BBQs were available each evening.
The entry was up on previous years and the good weather added to the carnival spirit. New events were added and there was excellent entertainment each evening.
Thanks to all the members who helped, played and socialised in a truly memorable Open Week.
The Men’ Championship Singles was won by Daniel Glancy and Grainne O Neill won the Ladies Championship Singles.

Junior Open
A huge entry of nearly 700 played in this year‘s Junior Open. The week, unfortunately, was played in poor weather conditions with heavy rainfalls making conditions very difficult for competitor’s parents and organisers alike. This did not dampen the spirits. The Junior Open is the largest Tennis Tournament in Ireland and continues to go from strength to strength!
Carrickmines Juniors were well represented in the tournament and well done to the following who made the finals: - James Fennelly (U14 Singles & Doubles Champion), James Brazil (U18 Doubles Champion), Sam O’Kelly (U14 Doubles Champion), Robyn Johnston (U14 Girls Doubles finalist), Siobhan Ryanbovey (finalist U18 Singles & Doubles).
Thank You to all the members who gave their time and helped out with the Catering, Tournament Desk, Shop, Umpiring etc.

This has been supplemented with subsidised Recreational Coaching, Box Tournaments and Camps. It has been a great summer of tennis for the participating juniors.
